King County LinkUp program
King County LinkUp. We helped King County, Washington — a leader in recycling — launch a new program to encourage businesses to use more recycled materials in their products.
Our team developed the program name (LinkUp), created a brand and tagline, and produced marketing materials from brochures and ads to an e-newsletter. We planned events to generate awareness, and we successfully pitched stories to the media to promote LinkUp and participating businesses.
Our work won an Award of Excellence from the Public Relations Society of America, Puget Sound chapter, and government agencies around the country inquired about replicating this unique approach. Media coverage was extensive — from the San Francisco Chronicle and NPR to Metropolitan Home magazine. LinkUp participants were winners, too: 90 percent said that LinkUp affiliation increased their customer credibility and improved sales.
